Here are the tools I used (* = not in photo):

- Pale Foundation - for some of Mana's look you may need whiteface, but I prefer using the lightest shade of foundation I can get
- Loose powder* - white if you can find it, otherwise the lightest shade. Talc will also do.
- Black eyeliner pencil - this is THE tool; without it you simply cannot do Mana makeup, or almost any other JRocker's. I once tried to do an entire "look" using only it and my fingers
- White eyeliner pencil (optional) - good for highlighting
- Brow pencil - if the Mana "look" you are after is blond, then use brown; otherwise, use charcoal
- Black liquid eyeliner* - for definition and details
- Eyeshadow - duh
- False eyelashes - if you can get two pairs, one long and thick and the other shorter and sparser, then so much the better; otherwise just get the fattest pair you can find. Oh and they should be black, as brown ones don't look good in photos
- Sponges - for applying foundation and blending
- Eyeshadow sponge applicator - they are just less messy then brushes, and clean ones can be used to neaten up messes
- Sharpener - always sharpen your pencils before and after using it
- Eyelash glue - apart from false lashes, you can use it to stick body gems and other stuff to your face if needed
- Tissue and cotton swipes* (optional) - accidents can and will happen...keep these handy
Before you begin your
transformation to Mana's clone, wash your face thoroughly and apply moisturizer.
A clean and moisturized face is the first step to good makeup, no matter if it
is just some powder and lipstick, or full-on cosplay ˇ§maskˇ¨. Also, find
something to hold your hair away from your face (I used a shower cap) and layout all your tool on your table. Make
sure the lighting in your makeup place is sufficient enough, as bad lighting can
result in over or under usage of shading, colour etc.

Me pre-makeup, looking retarded. This picture is just for laughs, hehe.
